Robin loved spending time with his son. Which, of course, he got to do a lot because he took the boy with him everywhere he went, but still. It was always nice when he had a nice, quiet moment alone with him where the two of them could just play together and bond. About the only thing better than spending time alone with his son was spending time with Regina and his son. It was nice to see their relationship getting closer and closer. At the moment, Roland absolutely adored her. He would always go running to her when she came around, and it was clear he liked spending time with her.
You give a kid one monkey plushie and suddenly they can't get enough of you.
However, Roland would have to settle for a play date without his favorite sorceress- she had a lot of work to do running the town and figuring out the monster issue. In the meantime, Robin would have to do in terms of the boy's entertainment. He was sure he could manage well enough. While he might not have been able to conjure things for his son at a moment's notice, he did know what the boy liked to do with his day.
He loved going to the park. The swing was particularly fun for him, though at that moment he was digging around in the sandbox, making himself a lovely little sand castle. As long as he didn't find any treasures left by the neighborhood cats, he supposed that was all fine and dandy. He was sitting on a bench nearby, just watching the boy play.
Roland was happy as could be, determined to make a castle that Regina would want to move into. He was always thinking of ways to make her like him more- he wanted her to like him! Especially since it seemed like she might become his new mommy.
You had to impress future mommies.
He was so happy playing in the sand that he didn't notice there might be other kids nearby. He was just too busy patting sand down with his plastic trowel to make the crude likeness of a bridge.
